Postcard of an 8.8 meter (28.87 foot) tapeworm acquired through a visit to the Meguro Parasitological Museum in Tokyo. The museum's wall text in English reads, “A man in his 40s found a piece of a tapeworm coming out when defecated. He had developed no symptoms since he after raw salmon since he ate raw salmon, infected with a larval cestode, 3 months previously. Dr. Satoru Kamegai, the first director of MOM, collected the whole worm, 8.8 m long, from the patient using an antiparasitic drug. It is amazing to think how fast this tapeworm grew inside a human body."
